KEMO rain sensor 12 V/DC
When the sensor plate comes into contact with rain or slushy snow/hail, it activates a relay. This allows sun awnings to be retracted, skylights to be closed, or simply the rain to be reported. The automatically heated sensor surface prevents the sensor surface from icing up or fogging up. Two built-in LEDs indicate the function. Waterproof sealed electronics
Note: The electronics of the rain sensor react to the electrical conductivity of the water. We have now discovered that there are areas where completely unpolluted rainwater falls (distilled water). The sensor does not react to this. There must be minimal contamination in the water (dust particles, smoke, etc.) for the water to be electrically conductive and trigger the sensor. In 99% of areas in Germany, rainwater is conductive. If the sensor does not trigger in your location, please install it so that the rainwater first runs over a small canopy or something else before it touches the sensor. If the water falls directly from the cloud in its purest form onto the sensor and does not trigger it, then it is sufficient for it to run onto the sensor via a small board or from a canopy. The water will then have absorbed so much dirt that it is electrically conductive and triggers the sensor. Of course, install the sensor at an angle so that the water runs off again.
