KEMO Soil Moisture Sensor 12 V/DC
This sensor switches on your garden irrigation pump or solenoid valve when the soil is dry and switches off when there is enough moisture in the soil. The measuring head is buried in the soil at the depth where it is to measure and is connected to the base unit via a cable. Approximately 2 m of cable is supplied, but the sensor cable can be extended up to 20 m using a standard 2-pin cable.
The device is powered by a standard plug-in power supply (12 V/DC stabilized, > 130 mA, 3.5 mm jack plug). If the garden is only to be watered at certain times of the day or on certain days of the week, please connect a standard timer switch to the plug-in power supply and program it accordingly. When the soil moisture sensor receives power from the power supply, it starts to work.
Functional sequence:
After switching on the operating voltage, the soil moisture is measured. If the soil is too dry, the connected pump is switched on for 18-30 minutes. If the soil is sufficiently moist, the device goes into "pause" mode for approx. 18-30 minutes and then takes a new measurement. This continues in an endless loop until the operating voltage is switched off.
