The LAPP UNITRONIC LiYY 6x0.25 (MPN: 0028306) is a flexible, 6-conductor low-frequency data cable with a nominal conductor cross-sectional area of 0.25 mm² per conductor. It is used for transmitting data and signals, for example, at machine interfaces and in control, regulation, and measurement applications. The cable is intended for fixed installation and can be used in both dry and damp indoor environments.

Data and signal transmission in the low-frequency range
The UNITRONIC LiYY series was developed for low-frequency data and signal applications. Typical areas of use include machine interfaces as well as control, regulation, and measurement circuits. LAPP lists applications for this product family in, among other areas, computer systems, measurement and control technology, office equipment, and scales. Thanks to the combination of fine-stranded copper conductors and a flexible PVC construction, the cable is suitable for both stationary installations and applications involving occasional movement. With six individual conductors within a comparatively compact outer diameter of 5.1 mm, multiple signals can be transmitted through a single cable. The conductors are stranded in layers and can be distinguished by their colors in accordance with DIN 47100. This facilitates the unambiguous assignment of the individual conductors during connection and installation.
Design for fixed and occasionally moving installations
Each of the six conductors has a nominal cross-sectional area of 0.25 mm² and consists of fine-stranded, bare copper. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is used as the insulation material for the conductors and for the outer jacket. The outer jacket is gray. This version does not include a protective conductor; it is also an unshielded cable. There are different minimum bend radii for installation. For fixed installation, the minimum bend radius is four times the outer diameter, or 20.4 mm. For occasional movement, a minimum of ten times the outer diameter, or 51 mm, must be maintained. This allows the cable to be planned appropriately for the intended installation type.
Operating Conditions and Important Selection Guidelines
For fixed installation, the cable is designed for a temperature range of -40 °C to +80 °C. For applications involving occasional movement, the range is -5 °C to +70 °C. The cable is suitable for both dry and damp environments. When selecting the cable, note that this version is neither UV- nor oil-resistant, nor is it halogen-free. For applications requiring shielding against electromagnetic interference, proven UV resistance, or specific outdoor use, it is therefore necessary to verify whether a different cable type is required.
