AGM technology for a reliable power supply

The Offgridtec AGM series utilizes proven Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) technology. In this process, the electrolyte is bound within a glass fiber mat. As a result, the battery is completely maintenance-free and can be safely used in many stationary applications. At the same time, AGM technology is characterized by low internal resistance, which allows even higher currents to be reliably delivered. The battery is suitable for both cyclic operation—where it is regularly charged and discharged, such as in solar systems—and standby operation, where it remains permanently charged and only supplies power during a power outage.

High cycle stability for daily use

A key selection criterion for solar batteries is their service life during charging and discharging. The Offgridtec AGM 32Ah achieves:

  • up to 500 cycles at a 50% depth of discharge (DoD)
  • up to 1,200 cycles at a 30% depth of discharge (DoD)

The depth of discharge describes the proportion of the battery’s capacity that is drawn. A lower depth of discharge generally increases the number of possible charge cycles and thus the battery’s service life.

Robust construction

The housing is made of durable ABS plastic. Inside, lead dioxide and lead plates with glass fiber separators are used. The battery features sealed cells and is designed for maintenance-free operation. An integrated carrying handle facilitates transport and installation.

Important Note According to the Battery Ordinance (BattV)

Regulation on the Take-Back and Disposal of Used Batteries. Batteries and rechargeable batteries do not belong in household trash. Consumers are legally required to return used batteries. Returns can be made at Offgridtec.com or at the municipality’s public collection points.

Pursuant to Section 10 of the Battery Act, the seller must collect a deposit of 7.50 euros, including sales tax, if the end consumer does not have a used starter battery at the time of purchase. If the seller does not collect a deposit—because the used battery was disposed of properly or an old-for-new exchange took place—this amount is also not deductible from the purchase price.

Bis zu wie viel % kann die Batterie regelmäßig ohne großen Verlust der Lebenserwartung entladen werden?

Faustregel Blei-Säure Batterien (AGM, GEL): Maximal 50% nutzbare Batteriekapazität.
Beispiel: Eine 100Ah AGM Batterie hat eine nutzbare Kapazität von 50Ah.
Je kleiner davon der genutzte Anteil einer Batterie ausfällt, umso länger die Lebenserwartung.
Optimal ist es, die Batterie max. um 30% zu entleeren, entspricht am Beispiel 20-30Ah optimal nutzbare Kapazität.
