The Offgridtec LiFePO4 12/300 battery with heating mat (MPN 020720) is a state-of-the-art and efficient energy storage solution. Advantages of the integrated heating mat

  • Protection against damage during charging: LiFePO₄ cells must not be charged below 0 °C, as this causes lithium plating. This results in permanent damage to the battery and can drastically shorten its service life.
  • Maintenance of charging capability: To enable charging even at cold temperatures, the heating mat warms the cells to a safe temperature.
  • Optimization of performance: Cold reduces the usable capacity and power output of the battery. A heated battery can deliver more energy and operate more efficiently.
  • Use in cold environments: Especially in RVs, off-grid systems, or electric vehicles, the battery is often exposed to sub-zero temperatures. An integrated heating mat ensures that the battery functions even in winter.

Integrated BMS

The LiFePO4 offers automatic protection through its internal battery management system. LiFePO4 Technology

A LiFePO4 battery stands for "lithium iron phosphate battery" and is a type of lithium-ion battery. It is characterized by a specific chemical composition in which lithium iron phosphate is used as the cathode material. These batteries can undergo thousands of charge cycles, resulting in a longer overall lifespan compared to other battery types. They are considered safer than some other lithium-ion batteries because they are less prone to overheating or thermal instability. Furthermore, they offer a constant voltage and power output throughout most of their discharge cycle, a high discharge rate, and a low weight.
