Advantages of the integrated heating mat
- Protection against damage during charging: LiFePO₄ cells must not be charged below 0 °C, as this causes lithium plating. This results in permanent damage to the battery and can drastically shorten its service life.
- Maintenance of charging capability: To enable charging even at cold temperatures, the heating mat warms the cells to a safe temperature.
- Optimization of performance: Cold reduces the usable capacity and power output of the battery. A heated battery can deliver more energy and operate more efficiently.
