The Offgridtec AGM 154Ah 20HR 12V Solar Battery (MPN: 2-01-001005) is a sealed AGM lead-acid battery with a nominal voltage of 12 V and a capacity of 154 Ah (20HR). It was developed for cyclic applications and is suitable both as a solar battery for off-grid systems and for use in uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, telecommunications, or emergency power systems. Thanks to AGM technology, the battery is maintenance-free, has a low self-discharge rate, and offers impressive cycle stability. The technical specifications are based on the manufacturer’s data sheet.

AGM technology for cyclic applications
The battery uses proven AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) technology. In this process, the electrolyte is completely bound within a glass fiber mat. As a result, the battery is maintenance-free and significantly less sensitive to vibrations and changes in orientation than traditional wet-cell batteries. High cycle life is particularly important in solar systems with daily charging and discharging cycles. According to the manufacturer, the battery achieves up to 500 cycles at a 50% depth of discharge or up to 1,200 cycles at a 30% depth of discharge. A lower depth of discharge has a positive effect on the battery’s service life.
Suitable for a wide range of stationary applications
The Offgridtec AGM 154Ah was developed for a wide variety of stationary energy storage applications. Typical areas of use include:
- Off-grid solar systems
- Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)
- Telecommunications systems
- Alarm and security systems
- DC power supplies
- Automated control systems
- Emergency power supply
Thanks to its low self-discharge rate, the battery is also suitable for systems with extended downtime or seasonal operation.
Robust Construction and Reliable Performance
The housing is made of durable ABS plastic. Inside, lead dioxide and lead plates with glass fiber separators are used. The design is engineered for long-term, reliable operation and, according to the manufacturer, undergoes regular quality testing. The internal resistance of a fully charged battery is a maximum of 5.0 mΩ, allowing it to reliably power even higher loads. The battery has a low self-discharge rate of approximately 2% per month at 25 °C, which facilitates longer storage periods.
Charging Instructions
To ensure a long service life, the manufacturer recommends different charging voltages for cyclic operation and standby applications:
- Cyclic operation: 14.40 to 14.60 V (25 °C)
- Maximum charging current: 45 A
- Trickle charge (standby): 13.60 to 13.80 V
Temperature-dependent adjustment of the charging voltage further contributes to gentle battery charging. The data sheet contains corresponding characteristic curves and diagrams for this purpose.

Battery Regulations
You are legally required to return batteries. After use, you can return them to our retail location or to a local municipal collection point.
Important Note According to the Battery Ordinance
Regulation on the Take-Back and Disposal of Used Batteries. Batteries and rechargeable batteries do not belong in household trash. Consumers are legally required to return used batteries. Returns can be made at Offgridtec.com or at the municipality’s public collection points.
Pursuant to Section 10 of the Battery Act, the seller must collect a deposit of 7.50 euros, including sales tax, if the end consumer does not have a used starter battery at the time of purchase. If the seller does not collect a deposit—because the used battery was disposed of properly or an old-for-new exchange took place—this amount is also not deductible from the purchase price.
