Pylontech US3000D 48 V LiFePO4 Battery Module with 3.55 kWh

The US3000D from Pylontech (MPN: US3000D) is a low-voltage battery module featuring LiFePO4 technology. This modular energy storage system has a rated capacity of 3.55 kWh and a rated voltage of 48 V. The battery is designed for stationary energy storage systems and can be expanded in parallel within a battery group to include up to 16 modules. An integrated battery management system (BMS), CAN and RS485 communication, and a compact design for 19-inch rack systems facilitate integration into scalable storage solutions.

Modular design for various storage capacities

Individual modules can be connected in parallel, allowing the storage capacity to be adapted to specific energy needs. Up to 16 modules are possible within a single battery group. For larger systems, multi-group operation is also possible. Parallel connection is particularly useful when an existing storage system needs to be expanded later. A new battery module can be easily added to an existing system. However, before expanding the system, the state of charge of the batteries must be equalized. Important note: The previous version, the US3000C, can also be combined with other modules. However, the newest battery must always be set as the master.

Integrated BMS for Monitoring and Protection

A battery management system (BMS) is integrated into the battery. The BMS monitors key operating conditions and provides protection against overvoltage and undervoltage during charging and discharging, overcurrent during charging and discharging, high or low cell temperatures, and short circuits. Additionally, the described functions include, among others, calculating the available capacity, monitoring the electrical circuit, and communicating with the inverter. The LEDs on the front panel allow you to view the operating status, alarm conditions, and the current state of charge (SOC) directly on the battery module.

CAN and RS485 for System Communication

The battery provides CAN and RS485 interfaces for communication. Among other things, these are used for communication between batteries connected in parallel, as well as for connecting the battery system to a compatible inverter or higher-level system. Operating information can be exchanged via the BMS, and the battery can be controlled according to system requirements. Before connecting to an inverter, its compatibility with the US3000D must be verified.

Charging and Discharging Power

The normal charging and discharging current specified by Pylontech is 37 A. It has a limited duration of 60 seconds, a maximum current of 74 to 89 A, and a peak range of 90 to 200 A for 15 seconds. For the practical design of the storage system, in addition to these limit values, the inverter, cabling, protective devices, and the number of modules operated in parallel must also be taken into account. A suitable protective or isolating device must be installed between the battery system and the inverter.
