The Vertex S+ from Trina Solar (MPN: TSM-470-NEG9R.28) is a high-performance 470W double-glass solar module that is ideally suited for both residential and commercial applications. Thanks to advanced technologies such as high-density cell interconnection, the gaps between the solar cells are minimized, allowing more sunlight to be harnessed. Multi-busbar and N-type i-TOPCon technology further ensure higher light conversion efficiency, lower energy losses, and improved current conduction. With an efficiency of 23.5%, the module reliably delivers energy even under cloudy skies or during periods of shade. The robust double-glass construction provides optimal protection for the panel against weather conditions and fire. It has been tested for high loads and can withstand snow loads of up to 5,400 Pa and wind loads of up to 4,000 Pa. Thanks to the positive power tolerance of 0 to +5 W, you can be sure that the module will deliver at least the specified power output, and often even slightly more. The Vertex S+ is compatible with most common inverters and can be installed flexibly, whether you’re setting up a new system or expanding an existing one.

TOPCon cell technology
N-type i-TOPCon is a modern cell technology with passivated contacts (tunnel oxide + polysilicon) that significantly reduces losses at the cell surface. This gives you more power per unit area, better performance in high temperatures, and stable yields even in indirect light. Degradation is very low: approx. 1% in the first year, then about 0.4% per year. Combined with multi-busbar and double-glass technology, reliability increases, and the module integrates seamlessly with standard inverters.
High-Density Cell Interconnection Technology
It minimizes the gaps between the solar cells. This allows the module to utilize more active area, capture more light, and convert it into electricity more efficiently. This increases power output per module and reduces electrical losses. Combined with multi-busbar wiring, the current flows more evenly—for stable, reliable yields.
Multi-busbar technology
Each PV module features busbars that serve as current conductors and are firmly connected to every solar cell. They collect the generated direct current and transmit it to the busbars. Trina Solar uses a larger number of busbars to reduce shading effects, shorten transmission paths, and minimize resistance within the modules.
Double-glass design
The solar module is equipped with an improved double-glass design, making it less susceptible to microcracks and scratches on the back during installation. This provides enhanced mechanical resistance and strength. It is particularly suitable for use in coastal areas, high-temperature and high-humidity environments, as well as in demanding conditions. Other great features:
- Outstanding fire resistance
- Weather resistance
- Resistance to salt spray, sand dust, or ammonia
Universal solution for residential and C&I roofs
The module is designed to integrate easily with existing inverters and various mounting systems. Additionally, it is optimally sized and lightweight, making handling and installation easier. For this reason, the panel is the ideal solution for roofs with limited load-bearing capacity.
Degradation explained simply
This means that the power output of the 450W module decreases only slightly over the years. In the first year, it drops by no more than 1%, from 450 W to about 445.5 W. From year 2 through year 30, the decline is a maximum of 0.4% per year. Bottom line: after 30 years, the module still delivers around 87.4% of its initial output—that’s about 394 W—ensuring you stable, long-term returns.
