Victron Argodiode 80-2SC 80A 2 battery isolating diode
The Victron Energy Argo 80-2SC battery isolator (MPN ARG080202000R) enables charge distribution from one power source (e.g., alternator) to two battery circuits. Compared to the Argodiode 80-2AC, this version does not have a current-limiting output for the generator connection.
Battery isolator diodes can be used to charge two or even three separate battery circuits from a single power source. The batteries do not need to be connected to each other, which greatly simplifies the installation of these isolator diodes and even saves on installation costs.
Powerful Argo isolating diode
- Charges two batteries simultaneously from one power source without discharging between them
- Low voltage drop thanks to Schottky diodes
- Compensation diode included
- 12/24V compatible
Minimal voltage loss thanks to the latest Schottky diodes
The use of modern Schottky diodes also keeps voltage loss to a minimum. It is approx. 0.3 V at low currents and approx. 0.45 V at rated current. All models in the Victron Argo series are equipped with a compensation diode, which slightly increases the output voltage of the alternator to compensate for the voltage loss caused by the Shottky diodes. This is important because if the isolation diode is connected to the wiring between the alternator and the battery without further measures, a voltage loss occurs, which leads to incomplete charging and premature aging of the battery.
