Victron Argofet 100-2 100A 2 batteries FET isolator
The Victron ARGOFET Isolator 100-2 (MPN ARG100201020R) is capable of supplying two separate battery circuits from a single power source with up to 100A charging current. The power source can be the alternator or a charger.
Since the individual battery banks are not connected to each other, they cannot discharge each other or influence each other in any other way. The difference to battery isolating diodes is that FET isolators generate virtually no voltage loss and therefore have a much higher efficiency.
Technical features of the Argofet Isolator 100-2
- Maximum 100A charging current and connections for 2 battery circuits
- With 0.02V at low currents and 0.1V at high currents, there is practically no voltage loss, which makes a voltage increase for compensation unnecessary
Virtually no voltage loss
Unlike isolating diodes, FET isolators have virtually no voltage loss. The voltage drop is less than 0.02 volts at low currents and only 0.1 volts at higher currents. With ARGO FET battery isolation, no voltage increase is necessary. However, you should ensure that the cables are short and have sufficient cross-sections.
As a small example: a 100 A current has a voltage loss of 0.26 volts with a cable length of 10 m and a cable cross-section of 50 mm2. With a 5 m cable and 10 mm2 cross-section, a 50 A current causes a voltage loss of 0.35 volts! This makes FET insulators one of the most efficient charging current distributors currently available on the market.
