The MultiPlus 12/1600/70-16 (Victron Energy, PMP122160000) is a modern combination device consisting of a powerful 12V 1300W sine wave inverter, an advanced 70A battery charger that uses adaptive charging technology, and a 16A high-speed AC transfer switch.
In the event of a mains failure or if the shore power or on-board generator is interrupted, the Multi's inverter automatically switches on and takes over the supply to the connected consumers. The switchover is so fast (in less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic devices is guaranteed.
key features of the MultiPlus 12/1600/70-16
- Continuous output power at 25°C: 1300W with non-linear load
 - Victron Energy MPN: PMP122160000
 - for 12V system voltage
 - integrated 70A mains charger for your batteries
 - integrated 16A mains transfer switch
 - UPS operation possible, PowerAssist and PowerControl function
 - Extensive accessories available
 - Can be used in numerous applications, whether on land or mobile

proven reliability
The complete bridging with an additional ring transformer topology has proven itself over many years. The inverter is short-circuit-proof and protected against overheating (whether caused by overload or the ambient temperature).
PowerControl – (Multiplus 800VA, 1200VA, and 1600VA only)
The Multi Control remote control panel can be used to set the maximum mains or generator current that can be drawn. The MultiPlus then takes other connected AC consumers into account and only uses the "remaining" current for charging. This prevents the generator or shore power connection from being overloaded.
PowerAssist – (MultiPlus 800VA, 1200VA, and 1600VA only)
Load peaks often only occur for a limited period of time. In such cases, the MultiPlus ensures that insufficient shore power or generator power is immediately compensated for by energy from the battery. When the load is reduced, i.e., when consumers are switched off, the energy that is then available again can be used to charge the batteries.
High inrush current
This is required to switch on loads with high inrush currents, such as voltage converters for LED lamps, halogen lamps, or power tools.
Search mode
If search mode is set to 'ON', the inverter's power consumption is reduced by approximately 70% during zero-load operation. In this mode, when operating in inverter mode, the Multi switches off at zero load or low load, and a sensor measures the current output current every 2 seconds. if the output current exceeds a set limit value, the inverter resumes operation. If this is not the case, the device remains in energy-saving search mode.
programmable relay
In the default setting, the multifunction relay acts as an alarm relay, i.e., it switches off the device in the event of malfunctions (device becomes too hot, hum voltage at the input too high, battery voltage too low).
