Victron Smart Battery Sense Long Range Voltage and Temperature Sensor
The Smart Battery Sense Long Range from victron Energy (mpn sbs050150200) is a wireless battery voltage and temperature sensor for many victron chargers and solar chargers or device combinations. The Battery Sense Long Range is identical in construction to the standard version. Only the transmission power has been increased, which now allows up to 10m distance between battery and charger instead of 3m. With a voltage and temperature sensor, the batteries are charged better, the charging efficiency is improved and the life expectancy of your batteries is extended, since a permanent adjustment of the charging voltage to the battery temperature takes place

The charging of the battery is improved

For lead-acid batteries, the battery temperature data is used to adjust the charging voltages: cold batteries require a higher charging voltage, while hot batteries require a lower charging voltage. For lithium batteries, the temperature data is used to interrupt charging when the batteries are too cold: Charging lithium batteries at temperatures around freezing or below will permanently damage the cells
wireless communication
The connection between the Smart Battery Sense and one or more solar chargers is wireless. A vE.Smart Network is used - a wireless technology based on the Bluetooth Smart function. The transmitted data can be used simultaneously by one, two or more solar charger(s) connected to the same 12 v, 24 v or 48 v battery bank. The Smart Network is set up using the victronConnect app

Installation is simple, quick and neat. Simply attach the device's two cable lugs to the battery terminals and mount the Smart Battery Sense device directly on the battery with its self-adhesive strip
