Votronic 6065 Standby Charger 24V
The VOTRONIC StandBy-Charger 24V (MPN 6065) is used for automatic recharging and charge maintenance of the starter battery or auxiliary battery when the mains charger, solar charge controller, or generator only has one charging output. The device can be easily integrated into existing systems by simply connecting it between the on-board and starter battery or the on-board and auxiliary battery. No changes to the existing wiring are necessary.
The Standby Charger turns your charge controller into a dual charge controller in no time at all. For example, if the mains charger is in operation and charging the service battery, a small portion of the charging current is used to charge the second battery (starter battery or auxiliary battery), depending on the state of charge.
This charge maintenance works automatically and can be recognized by an increased voltage level in the second battery. Overcharging of the second battery is impossible, as the charging voltage is reduced by at least 0.6V and the charging current is limited to 3A (24V version: 2A).
