How does smart energy management work?

The Anker SOLIX Solarbank 3 Pro stores excess solar power and makes it available for personal use at a later time. When paired with the Anker SOLIX Smart Meter Gen 2, the system can monitor the household’s current electricity demand and adjust energy output accordingly.

The integrated Anker Intelligence also supports a predictive charging and discharging strategy. To this end, it can take into account weather forecasts, consumption patterns, and—if configured accordingly—dynamic electricity rates. For example, the system can use periods of low electricity prices to charge from the grid, provided this feature is set up and available.

Actual savings depend, among other factors, on PV output, solar irradiance, electricity consumption, electricity rates, and the selected storage capacity.

1200W bidirectional AC charging function

The Solarbank 3 E2700 Pro supports an AC charging power of up to 1200W. With the appropriate configuration, this allows the storage unit to be charged not only via the connected solar modules but also from the utility grid. In combination with dynamic electricity rates, this opens up additional opportunities for cost-optimized energy management.

For grid-connected operation, the specific device configuration and the permissible AC output power are decisive. The Solarbank also features a separate off-grid output with up to 1200W of power. This can supply suitable loads in the event of a power outage. However, it does not provide automatic backup power for the entire home electrical system.

The Anker SOLIX BP2700 Expansion Battery allows you to modularly increase the storage capacity of the Solarbank 3 Pro. Each expansion battery provides an additional 2,688 Wh of capacity. Depending on the selected model, the set includes either none or up to five expansion batteries.

Anker SOLIX Smart Meter Gen 2

The Anker SOLIX Smart Meter Gen 2 is a compact, three-phase energy meter designed for mounting on a DIN rail. It measures relevant electrical consumption data, thereby supporting demand-based control of the Anker SOLIX storage system.

The collected data can be used via the Anker app to monitor and analyze energy consumption. Communication is handled via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, among other methods. Thanks to its compact design, the device takes up very little space in the distribution box.

Important compatibility note: When used with the Anker SOLIX Solarbank 3, the CT connection (PV/ESS), automatic phase and polarity adjustment, branch circuit protection, and monitoring of PV systems from other manufacturers are not supported.

Installation Notes

Installation and commissioning must be performed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions as well as applicable electrical and legal requirements. The suitability of the simplified plug-in solar connection depends in particular on the actual PV module power, the grid-connected inverter power, and the specific device model.

The SOLIX Smart Meter Gen 2 is installed in the electrical distribution panel. Installation and electrical connection must be performed by a qualified electrician.

The solar modules require a suitable, stable mounting system that is approved for the installation site. A module mounting bracket is included in the scope of delivery only if it is explicitly listed for the selected model. The system must be registered or reported in accordance with applicable regulations.
