Fothermo photovoltaic heating element for hot water boilers
With the photovoltaic heating rod from Fothermo (MPN: HROD-550), retrofitting your existing hot water boiler with photovoltaic technology has never been easier. The innovative photovoltaic heating rod is simply screwed into the standard 1.5" thread, allowing you to use solar energy for hot water heating instead of conventional gas or oil heaters. And best of all, no registration is required, as the heating element does not feed into the power grid.
The advantages at a glance:
- Easy retrofitting
- Quick installation
- Patented MPP tracker with 99.9% efficiency
- Integrated reverse polarity protection
- No registration required
- Environmentally friendly
- Protection class: IP24
- Digital display
Retrofitting via plug & play
Installing the photovoltaic heating rod from fothermo is child's play. The photovoltaic heating rod is simply screwed into the standard 1.5" flange of your existing hot water tank and the PV modules are connected in parallel using simple plug-and-play MC4 connections. The heating process then begins immediately, and since there is no complicated wiring and the voltage level is below 50 V, no electrician is required for installation. The heating rods can also be easily combined with the fothermo switchover device (MPN: SWD-1600). The water in the boiler is then heated primarily from top to bottom, and excess energy is fed into the house network via the micro PV inverter on the switchover device.
Hot water supply from solar power
Especially in summer, retrofitting allows you to do without inefficient gas or oil heaters for hot water production. Instead, you can enjoy an environmentally friendly shower heated by the sun and contribute to reducing CO2 emissions. Thanks to the innovative MPP tracker, you also secure 50% higher yields and get the maximum yield from your PV modules even in bad weather. The heating element allows you to connect up to 2000 Wp of photovoltaic power, while the maximum heating power is 500 W. This means that the hot water supply for a 2-person household can be almost completely covered during the summer months at a maximum water temperature of 65°C in drinking water systems or 85°C in descaled heating systems.
