The Growatt MIN 2500TL-XH2 (MPN: MIN2500 TL-XH2) is a single-phase inverter with a rated AC power of 2500 W for grid-connected photovoltaic systems with an optional battery storage connection. Two independent MPP trackers, a maximum recommended PV power of 5,000 W, and an input current of up to 16 A per MPPT enable flexible solar system design. For battery integration, the unit features a high-voltage battery connection with an operating voltage range of 360 to 500 V. Compatible Growatt APX battery systems are suitable for this purpose. Its transformerless design with natural convection cooling eliminates the need for active fan cooling. With an IP66 rating, integrated protection functions, and a wide operating temperature range, the device is designed for appropriately suitable installation locations.

Two MPP trackers for different PV strings
The inverter operates with two independent MPPTs, each with one string input. A Maximum Power Point Tracker continuously adjusts the electrical operating point of the connected solar modules to ensure that a suitable power point is utilized within the respective operating conditions. Two separate trackers are particularly helpful for PV strings with different orientations or operating characteristics, as both inputs can be controlled independently. With a maximum recommended PV generator power of 5000 W, the connected module power may exceed the AC rated power of 2500 W. However, when designing the specific string configuration, all voltage and current limits of the inverter, as well as the electrical characteristics of the solar modules used, must be taken into account.
Backup Function with an Additional System Component
The XH2 series supports a configurable backup mode. It is important to note that additional system components are required for an actual backup power supply. For this, you need a battery as well as a backup box or SYN. The inverter alone therefore does not constitute a complete backup power solution. When combined with the appropriate system configuration, the backup function can be used to supply designated loads in the event of a grid outage.
Monitoring and Communication
Operating information can be viewed directly on the integrated OLED display and via the LED indicators. RS485 and USB are integrated for communication and monitoring. Additional optional communication options include Wi-Fi, GPRS, 4G, LAN, and RF. Additional optional accessories include, among others, the ShineWiLan-X2, ShineLink-X2, Shine4G-X, and the GroHomeManager-X. Corresponding communication devices can be connected via the USB-A port; this port is also intended for firmware updates. For power control and energy flow measurement, the series also supports the connection of a compatible smart meter or current transformer.
Protection Features and Passive Cooling
The inverter features several built-in protection and monitoring functions. These include:

Heat dissipation occurs via natural convection. An active fan cooling system is therefore not required. Growatt specifies a typical noise level of no more than 25 dB(A). The IP66 enclosure protects the unit against dust and high-pressure water jets. For actual installation, however, the guidelines described in the manual regarding the installation location and protection against direct sunlight, rain, and snow must be followed.
