Hybrid inverter
Compared to conventional inverters, hybrid inverters offer the option of not only feeding the generated solar power into the power grid, but also storing it in batteries. This allows the stored solar power to be used even when the sun is not shining. Another function of hybrid inverters is to optimize a household's electricity consumption by giving priority to using the solar power generated directly in the household before feeding it into the grid. This leads to a reduction in energy costs and less dependence on expensive grid electricity.
Operating modes – Configurable depending on system requirements
Online mode
Different operating modes can be set for optimal system integration of the SPH inverter. When entering directly on the device, a priority mode can only be set for a specific period of time. When using the online platform, up to three time periods can be set for the priority mode (paid accessories are required to use this function).
- Load first:In the standard "Load first" mode, the connected loads (consumers) are supplied with energy first. As soon as the PV energy is sufficient for the load, the excess energy is fed into the battery. If the battery is fully charged or no battery is connected, the remaining energy is fed into the grid.
- Battery first:In this mode, the inverter first fully charges the battery with the maximum possible solar power. If the PV power is insufficient, the grid charging function can also be activated.
- Grid first:In this mode, the PV energy generated is first fed into the grid. The switch-on and switch-off times for this mode can be set here, as well as the power rate.
Backup mode:
If there is no longer any grid voltage at the device, e.g., due to a short-term power failure or blackout, the Growatt SPH automatically switches to backup mode. This ensures the supply of the AC output via the EPS LOAD connection. The required energy is supplied solely by the solar system and the battery. If the PV system also fails, the battery secures the AC supply until it is discharged. If necessary, the automatic switch to this mode can also be deactivated.
Maximum Power Point Tracking
The use of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology ensures that a solar system achieves the optimum yield. The MIC inverter has an MPPT that adjusts the ideal ratio between voltage and current throughout the day according to the solar radiation and the module temperature of the solar modules. Thanks to the wide MPPT voltage range, many solar modules can be connected, enabling efficient energy generation. This advantage is particularly evident when the sky is partly cloudy and the light intensity is constantly changing.
Intelligent load management
The inverter's integrated intelligent load control enables efficient and precise control of energy consumption. The potential-free contact allows electrical consumers to be intelligently controlled and prioritized. This function makes it possible to automatically detect energy requirements and make optimal use of the available energy. Intelligent load management ensures optimal distribution of energy and thus contributes to efficient use. With intelligent load control via the dry contact, the inverter is able to optimize the energy flow and ensure efficient operation of your solar system.
Growatt monitoring platform
The optional accessories in the Shine series allow you to use the Growatt monitoring platform. This is available as a smartphone app (for iOS and Android) and as a web version. The Shine accessories must be purchased separately, but use of the platform is free of charge. Shine allows you to configure and monitor all your Growatt products, and you can also view your own consumption and trends.
The following Shine options are compatible with the SPH series:
- ShineWiFi-X
- ShineLink-X
- Shine4G-X
- ShineMaster
