PERC - das steht für "Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell", zu deutsch etwa "passivierter Emitter und Rückseitenzelle".
Was kompliziert klingt, ist so simpel wie genial: Bei normalen Solarzellen dringt immer ein kleiner Teil des Sonnenlichts, nämlich das rote Licht, ungenutzt durch die Zelle hindurch. Die PERC-Technologie hingegen ermöglicht durch eine Schicht auf der Rückseite der Zelle, dass dieses ungenutzte Sonnenlicht reflektiert wird. Diese Technik verhilft der Solarzelle zu einem höheren Wirkungsgrad. Besonders, wenn das Licht tendenziell rot gefärbt ist, also am Morgen und am Abend, kann die Anlage vom PERC-Effekt profitieren.

The Offgridtec olp 100w (mpn 3-01-011070) is a powerful 12v solar module with innovative overlapping design wafer assembly and features dimensions that almost reach the range of high power solar modules. Innovative PERC technology
The PERC technology (Passivated Emitter Rear Cell) in the Offgridtec olp solar modules ensures a higher efficiency of the solar cells with its key technology. A dielectric layer is created on the back of the cell between the conventional aluminum metallization and the silicon wafer layer, which is provided with tiny holes by a laser. This dielectric layer reflects light, which penetrates to the back side without generating charge carriers, into the solar cell. The reflection gives the photons a "second chance" to generate electricity. In addition to higher efficiency at different wavelengths and the increased likelihood that electrons will contribute to power, PERC technology contributes to lower system costs and an increase in area energy yield.
