The Offgridtec 2-way junction boxes with extension cable (MPN 010337) are compatible with solar connectors and are used to connect two modules in parallel. In terms of design, they are identical to the 2-way junction boxes, but these junction boxes feature a cable extension (total length of the item approx. 34 cm).

What does parallel connection mean?
In a parallel connection, the positive and negative wires are bundled at a single output. This configuration increases the current while the voltage remains the same.
Practical example: You want to connect 3 x 100W (Imp=5.56A, Vmp=17.8V) solar modules to a charge controller with a 20A rating and a maximum input voltage of 30V DC. To ensure you do not exceed the allowed input voltage, you must wire the modules in parallel. That is, positive to positive and negative to negative.
If you now measure the string, you should be able to measure the following values under ideal lighting conditions: Imp=16.68A and Vmp=17.8V. This means your solar configuration is a perfect match for the charge controller.
