Offgridtec’s backup systems are ideal for emergency power supply or for expanding an existing solar system. In addition to lithium-ion batteries from Pylontech, the systems include a compatible MultiPlus-II inverter and a Cerbo GX MK2 for system monitoring. This allows you to ensure your power supply even in the event of a power outage.
Thanks to its UPS function, the MultiPlus remains powered on even during a grid failure and takes over powering the connected loads. The switchover occurs so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic devices is guaranteed.
Applications of the Offgridtec Backup Kit:
- Emergency power supply
- Off-grid solar systems (stand-alone systems)
- Retrofitting of existing PV systems
- Grid-connected power supply
- UPS systems

Expanded Use of Your Backup System
To set up an ESS (Energy Storage System) with the backup system, you’ll need one energy meter with a connection cable:
With this energy meter, you can set up a grid-tied installation and then monitor your energy consumption and keep track of your energy costs. Thanks to phase compensation, you can even use the 3-phase meter for 1-phase systems. This makes seamless integration of decentralized energy sources and consumers into the existing power grid a breeze.
The Storage Solution – Pylontech US5000C Batteries
The US3000C storage unit is a latest-generation lithium battery. It was specifically designed to meet the high demands placed on backup storage systems. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, maximum safety and a long service life are guaranteed, even with regular deep discharges.
- Extremely cycle-stable—over 6,000 cycles at 95% DoD
- Absolutely intrinsically safe lithium technology
- High charge and discharge rates possible
- Integrated BMS
- Very high energy density—lightweight and compact design
- Completely maintenance-free and durable
The electronic core—the Victron Multiplus-II unit combination
The Multiplus-II 48/8000/110-100 is a high-end unit combination from Victron Energy (MPN PMP482805000) that combines classic Multiplus components with an external current sensor and an integrated anti-islanding function. This extends the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions to 100 A and broadens the potential range of applications to include energy storage system (ESS) applications. The inverter module delivers a full 8,000 W under non-linear loads, or 6,400 W under continuous linear loads. The 48 V battery charger is also very well-proportioned with a charging capacity of 110 A and is complemented by a 100 A transfer switch that allows for lightning-fast switching back and forth between the AC connections.
Key Features of the Multiplus-II 48/8000/110-100
- PowerControl and PowerAssist – Boosting grid or generator power
- Built-in anti-islanding function and connection option for an external current sensor (optional)
- Can be used as a backup device in grid-connected systems to provide power during grid outages
- Suitable for use in various ESS (Energy Storage System) applications
- Ideally suited for professional maritime applications, yachts, vehicles, and land-based, off-grid applications
- VE.Bus interface for parallel and three-phase operation, remote monitoring, and system integration
- Virtually unlimited power output through parallel and three-phase operation
Always enough power thanks to PowerControl and PowerAssist
On the MultiPlus-II 48/8000/110-100, a maximum grid or generator current can be set. The MultiPlus-II then takes into account other connected AC loads and uses only the “remaining” current to charge the battery. This prevents the generator or grid connection from being overloaded (PowerControl function). The PowerAssist function takes the PowerControl principle to a new level. Load spikes often occur only for a limited period of time. In such cases, the MultiPlus-II immediately compensates for insufficient generator, shore power, or grid output by drawing energy from the battery. When the load is reduced—that is, when loads are turned off—the energy that is then once again available in sufficient quantities can be used to charge the batteries.
Remote Configuration and Monitoring
Install a Color Control GX or other GX products to connect to the Internet. Operating data can be stored and viewed free of charge on our VRM (Victron Remote Management) website. If systems are connected to the Internet, they can be accessed remotely and settings can be changed.
The MultiPlus-II is shipped unconfigured by default. You can find the system configuration guide here. If you would like us to pre-configure the system for you, we’d be happy to do so for an additional fee. To request this, add the linked item“Offgridtec Pre-configuration” to your cart during the ordering process. In this case, shipping may take 3–5 business days longer while the configuration is being completed.
Safety Notice: Have this complete system installed and commissioned only by a licensed electrician.
