Offgridtec’s backup systems are ideal for emergency power supply or for expanding an existing solar system. In addition to lithium-ion batteries from Pylontech, the systems include a compatible MultiPlus-II inverter and a Cerbo GX MK2 from Victron Energy for system monitoring. This allows you to ensure your power supply even in the event of a power outage.

Thanks to its UPS function, the MultiPlus remains powered on even during a grid failure and continues to supply power to the connected loads. The switchover occurs so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic devices is guaranteed.

Expanded Use of Your Backup System

To set up an ESS (Energy Storage System) with the backup system, you’ll need one energy meter with a connection cable:

• Victron VM-3P75CT Energy Meter, 3-phase electricity meter, 75A/phase
• 5 m Victron RJ45 UTP cable

With this energy meter, you can set up a grid-tied installation and then monitor your energy consumption and keep track of your energy costs. Thanks to phase compensation, you can also use the 3-phase meter for 1-phase systems. This makes seamless integration of decentralized energy sources and loads into the existing power grid a breeze.

The Storage Solution – Pylontech US5000 Batteries

The Pylontech US5000 storage unit is a latest-generation lithium-ion battery. It was specifically designed to meet the high demands placed on backup storage systems. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, maximum safety and a long service life are guaranteed, even with regular deep discharges.

The electronic core—the Victron Multiplus-II unit combination

The Multiplus-II is a high-end unit combination from Victron Energy, consisting of a 48V battery charger, inverter, and transfer switch. This combination integrates the classic Multiplus components with an external current sensor and built-in anti-islanding function. This extends the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions to 50A and broadens the potential range of applications to include energy storage systems. The Multiplus is therefore ideal for use as a backup device in both grid-tied and off-grid power supply systems.
