The Offgridtec olp 150w v2 (mpn 018480) is a powerful solar module in a full-black design. It offers optimized light output and a compact design that enables flexible installations. It is the improved version of the popular olp 155w 12v solar module (mpn 3-01-011075). The higher short-circuit current improves module performance, while the increased system voltage of 1000 vdc enables integration into new and existing solar systems. In the new version, the solar modules are equipped with both improved solar cells and 11 busbars, which leads to improved light absorption and reduces the effect of partial shading.

Overlapping design

Overlapping in the wafer design of monocrystalline solar modules is crucial for their extraordinarily high module efficiency. It enables more precise use of the available surface area, minimizes power losses through reduced lead resistance and limits material losses during production. The targeted arrangement of the wafers effectively minimizes empty spaces between them, thereby increasing the power density and optimizing the overall efficiency of the modules. This method is therefore particularly advantageous for Solaraapplications in rooms with limited space, as it maximizes energy generation per unit area.

Innovative PERC technology

PERC technology, also known as Passivated Emitter Rear Cell or rear-side passivation, is a key technology in Offgridtec olp solar modules that increases the efficiency of solar cells. It creates a dielectric layer between the conventional aluminium metallization and the silicon wafer layer on the back of the cell. A laser is applied to this layer to create tiny holes. This dielectric layer reflects light, which normally penetrates through to the rear side without generating charge carriers, back into the solar cell. This gives photons an extra chance to generate electricity. PERC technology improves efficiency across different wavelengths, increases the likelihood of electrons contributing to electricity generation and helps to reduce system costs and increase energy yield per unit area.
