The high-end hybrid charge-controller All Round 400-24 from Phaesun was espcially designed for 48V DC offgrid wind/solar hybrid systems.Thanks to a many control functions the All Round series is very well-suited for wind/solar applications, street lighting or surveillance systems. Integrated battery life algorithm extends battery life If the charge controller can't manage to fully charge the battery within a day the battery status switches constantly between "partly charged" and "end of discharge". This operation mode (no regular charging) is ideal for small lead batteries, for lead-acid batteries otherwise irregular charging and discharging can cause severe damage already after several months. The battery life algorithm checks the battery's charging level and heightens the switch-off threshold from day to day. That means that connected consumers are switched off earlier until the produced energy is sufficient for a full battery charge of 100%. From this point on the threshold is modulated in a way that a full charge can be reached once a week. The Offgridtec PWM 12/24-10 (MPN 1-01-010910) is a microprocessor controlled solar charge controller with 10A max. charge capacity and can charge both 12V and 24V batteries. It uses advanced 3-stage PWM modulation to get the most out of your AGM, GEL or lead acid batteries. It is suitable for solar systems with a max. PV power of 130W at 12V and 260W at 24V battery voltage. During charging, important environmental parameters such as battery temperature (only with optional sensor) are used to calculate the optimal charging current. As soon as the battery voltage is in the range of full charge, the charging voltage is reduced step by step. This prevents both gassing and heating of the batteries and thus maximises the service life of the batteries. Charging then continues at reduced voltage until your batteries are actually "full". The result of this method of operation is a better, faster charge without any deterioration in the health of your battery.
