Efficient PWM charging technology
The Solarix PRS 3030 operates using the PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) method. In this process, the charging current is regulated based on the battery’s state of charge. This method is particularly well-suited for traditional 12V and 24V solar systems where the module voltage matches the battery voltage. The multi-stage charging curve—featuring charge, boost, float, and equalization modes—ensures gentle battery charging and helps extend battery life. The integrated temperature compensation automatically adjusts the charging voltage to the ambient temperature.
Protection of the Battery and Connected Loads
The charge controller continuously monitors the battery’s state of charge and protects it from overcharging and harmful deep discharge. If the battery voltage drops below the permissible range, the integrated load output automatically disconnects connected loads from the battery. As soon as sufficient energy is available again, these loads are automatically reconnected. This helps extend the battery’s service life—particularly in off-grid solar systems—and prevents complete discharge.

Installation
The controller is installed between the solar module, the battery, and optional DC loads. To ensure safe operation, the manufacturer recommends installing it in a dry indoor location on a non-flammable surface with adequate ventilation. The connection sequence must be followed: First connect the battery, then the solar module, and finally the loads. For the 30A controller, a conductor cross-section of 16 mm² is recommended for the specified cable lengths. An external battery fuse must also be provided.
