Victron Isolation Transformer 3600W Car 115/230V

The Isolation Transformer from Victron Energy prevents a continuous electrical connection between the shore AC power and the ship. The best solution for preventing galvanic corrosion while maintaining all safety aspects is achieved by installing the Isolation Transformer. This ensures complete galvanic isolation from the shore power network, with the shore power on the primary winding and the on-board power system on the secondary winding. The transformation ratio is 1:1. All safety systems of the on-board power supply operate separately and independently of the shore power.

It is incorrect to assume that galvanic corrosion can only occur on aluminum or steel ships. In reality, it affects all ships as soon as metal parts such as the propeller and shaft or metal outer skin penetrations come into contact with water and the ship is grounded via the shore connection. This model automatically switches to a 115 V or 230 V supply depending on the input voltage.
