The HVS Battery Box from BYD offers you a usable storage capacity of at least 5.12kWh and can be easily expanded to a maximum capacity of 12.8kWh per tower with additional high-voltage battery modules. To achieve the maximum capacity of 38.4kWh, up to 3 identical HVS towers can be connected directly in parallel. Furthermore, it is possible to expand the system at a later date by adding additional HVS modules or parallel HVS towers. This makes it ideal for operating power-intensive consumers and supports you even in the event of a power failure, thanks to the integrated emergency power function, as well as in off-grid operation. HVS 2.56 kWh battery module

The HVS 2.56 kWh high-voltage battery module from BYD impresses with its high cycle stability and remarkable durability thanks to its LiFePO4 technology. The modular and stackable design of the battery allows for versatile use in various scenarios and is characterized by its very straightforward installation. It offers outstanding performance, even under high loads. In addition to the battery management system and the base, the battery is the main indicator of the BYD HVS Battery Box Premium. This storage system can be easily expanded to up to 5 modules in series without cables. The parallel connection of up to 3 identical battery boxes also enables a maximum capacity of 38.4 kWh.

The new system generation

The new BYD generation is based on the proven storage systems and offers all the previous functions. They are launching a battery module that has a higher storage capacity than its predecessor. Thanks to advances in cell technology, the system weight has been reduced by almost 30% and the depth by 8 cm, which requires less floor space and results in a sleeker appearance. A highlight of the new storage units is their IP55 protection class, which allows them to be used outdoors. In addition, the new generation offers even more flexibility and scalability. Up to three battery towers can now be connected to form a single system. BYD remains true to its line in terms of charging and discharging performance, as each battery can also deliver its rated capacity as power, i.e., 1C. This makes the new series ideal for on-grid, on-grid plus backup, and off-grid systems.

Modular battery system

The HVS Battery Box can be configured with 2 to 5 HVS battery modules arranged in series. This allows a capacity of 5.1 to 12.8kWh to be achieved. To achieve the maximum capacity of 38.4kWh, up to 3 identical HVS towers can be connected directly in parallel. It is also possible to expand the system later by adding additional HVS modules or parallel HVS towers.

Power supply at all times: BYD backup power and off-grid function

The HVS set is extremely versatile and can be used in both on-grid and off-grid systems. Its integrated emergency power function is particularly practical and often in demand. This enables the system to supply the entire household with power in the event of a power failure, either on one or three phases. This requires a compatible hybrid or storage inverter that supports both an emergency power and an off-grid function. A list of compatible inverters can be found in the "Downloads" section.

Performance and storage capacity: Scalability made easy

BYD attaches great importance to the scalability of its storage systems. The new B-Box HVS is easy to retrofit and allows for simple expansion. A simple plug connection eliminates cable clutter and unnecessary complexity in the product design. It is possible to add additional storage modules. Furthermore, by connecting up to three storage towers in parallel, a maximum storage capacity of 38.4 kWh and a discharge power of 38.4 kW can be achieved. It is important to note that each storage tower must have the same number of modules.

Control unit and base
