This connection cable from Victron Energy (MPN ASS070200100) connects a non-VE.Bus BMS (Smart BMS CL 12/100 or smallBMS) to a MultiPlus (MultiPlus, MultiPlus Compact, or MultiPlus-II). The cable switches off the MultiPlus as soon as the BMS detects a low voltage, high voltage, or temperature alarm condition in the Victron lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) smart battery bank. Once the alarm condition has been resolved, the BMS switches the MultiPlus back on.
Compatible with:
- MultiPlus 500VA – 1600VA
- MultiPlus Compact 800VA – 2kVA
- MultiPlus-II
- Control via load/charge disconnect outputs or load/charge device outputs
The cable must be wired to the remote on/off connector of the MultiPlus models:
- When used with MultiPlus 500VA – 1200VA models, connect the black wire to the ON terminal and the red wire to the (+) terminal
- When used with MultiPlus Compact 800VA - 2kVA models, connect the black wire to the middle terminal and the red wire to the right (IN) terminal
- When used with MultiPlus II models, connect the black wire to the lower (-) terminal and the red wire to the upper (+) remote on/off terminal.
Both the load/charge disconnect outputs of the Smart BMS CL 12/100 and the load/charge device outputs of the smallBMS must be in the 'high' state for the MultiPlus to function. After shutting down due to low battery voltage, run the alternator or use a battery charger on the primary side of the BMS to reset the system. The MultiPlus will then turn on and start charging (if connected to an AC power source).
