Dekaseal 8936 from Dekalin is the classic among sealants. The dab-on sealant impresses with its high sealing properties, UV resistance, and elasticity, as it does not harden and remains permanently tacky. Ideal for use in applications without visible joint edges (flaps, hatches, side windows, piping strips, external sockets, etc.).
Its ease of use impresses professionals and amateurs alike. No additional cleaning is required, as any excess residue can be easily removed without leaving any marks by dabbing. The sealant can be easily applied without pre-treatment to clean, dry, dust-free, and grease-free surfaces found in vehicle construction/caravanning.
Dekaseal 8936 can be applied by hand or with a compressed air gun. In addition to its high sealing properties, its strengths include easy removability, meaning it is well suited for connections that need to be loosened at a later date.
Applications
- Sealing overlaps and joints in, for example, bus, caravan, motorhome, train, and truck construction
- Sealing screw connections

Adhesion
In general, Dekaseal 8936 adheres well without pretreatment to clean, dry, dust- and grease-free substrates made of aluminum, stainless steel, zinc, copper, brass, powder-coated metal, most painted metal surfaces, glass, PVC, polyester (GRP), painted wood, and other surfaces. No adhesion without pretreatment on polyethylene, polypropylene, and Teflon®. For properties on substrates not mentioned and further information, please contact Dekalin.
Application
Dekaseal 8936 can be applied by hand or with a compressed air gun. When using compressed air, 2–3 bar is required. The areas to be sealed must be solid, clean, dry, and free of grease. Apply to joints, gaps, etc. and smooth. Excess material can be dabbed off after a short flash-off time. The material can be removed with white spirit. The sealant remains slightly sticky after drying, but is odorless and compatible with paint.
