The Growatt MIN 4600TL-XH2 (MPN: MIN4600 TL-XH2) is a compact, single-phase PV inverter with a rated AC output of 4600 W for grid-connected photovoltaic systems. With two independent MPP trackers, a recommended maximum PV power of 9,200 W, and up to 16 A input current per MPPT, it provides a flexible foundation for modern solar systems. At the same time, the XH2 series is already prepared for the integration of a compatible high-voltage battery storage system, thereby enabling future expansion of the energy system. With an IP66 rating, integrated protection functions, and a wide operating temperature range, the device is designed for suitable installation locations.

Two MPP trackers for different PV strings
The inverter operates with two independent MPPTs, each with one string input. A Maximum Power Point Tracker continuously adjusts the electrical operating point of the connected solar modules to ensure that a suitable power point is utilized within the respective operating conditions. Two separate trackers are particularly helpful for PV strings with different orientations or operating characteristics, as both inputs can be controlled independently. For the 4600 W model, Growatt specifies a maximum recommended PV generator capacity of 9200 W. However, when designing the specific string configuration, all voltage and current limits of the inverter as well as the electrical characteristics of the solar modules used must be taken into account.
Backup Function with an Additional System Component
The XH2 series supports a configurable backup mode. It is important to note that additional system components are required for actual backup power supply. For this, you need a battery as well as a Backup Box or SYN. The inverter alone therefore does not constitute a complete backup power solution. When combined with the appropriate system configuration, the backup function can be used to power designated loads in the event of a grid outage.
Monitoring, Communication, and Future Storage Expansion
An OLED display and an LED status indicator are available for monitoring directly on the inverter. RS485 and USB are integrated as communication interfaces. Wi-Fi, GPRS, 4G, LAN, and RF are optional communication options. Additional optional accessories include the ShineWiLan-X2, ShineLink-X2, Shine4G-X, and the GroHomeManager-X, among others. The USB-A port can also be used for compatible monitoring devices and firmware updates. For energy management, the inverter also supports feed-in limitation functions in conjunction with a suitable smart meter or current transformer. For battery operation, there are three operating modes: Grid Priority, Battery Priority, and Load Priority. In addition, the battery’s grid-charging function can be enabled or disabled. This allows the interaction between solar power, consumption, battery storage, and the public grid to be adapted to the specific system configuration.
Protection Functions and Passive Cooling
The inverter features several integrated protection and monitoring functions. These include:

Heat dissipation occurs via natural convection. An active fan cooling system is therefore not required. Growatt specifies a typical noise level of no more than 25 dB(A). The IP66 enclosure protects the unit against dust and high-pressure water jets. For actual installation, however, the guidelines described in the manual regarding the installation location and protection against direct sunlight, rain, and snow must be followed.
