The backup systems from Offgridtec are ideal for emergency power supply or for expanding an existing solar system. In addition to lithium-ion batteries from Pylontecha suitable MultiPlus-II inverter and a Cerbo gx for system monitoring from victron Energy. This allows you to secure your energy supply even in the event of a power failure.

Thanks to the UPS function, the MultiPlus remains switched on even in the event of a power failure and takes over the supply to the connected consumers. The switchover happens so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic devices can be guaranteed.

Extended use of your backup system

In order to set up an ess (Energy Storage System) with the backup system, an energy meter with connection cable is required:

• victron vm-3p75ct Energy Meter 3-phase electricity meter 75a/phase
• 5m victron rj45 utp cable

With this energy meter, you can carry out a grid-parallel installation and then monitor your energy consumption and control your energy costs. Thanks to phase compensation, you can even use the 3-phase meter for 1-phase systems. This means that seamless integration of decentralized energy sources and consumers into the existing power grid is no problem.

In order for an ess to be taken into account in the pre-configuration, the meter must be purchased in advance or for the system!

The electronic core - the victron Multiplus-II device combination

The Multiplus-II 48/5000/70-50 is a high-end device combination from victron Energy (mpn pmp482505010) that combines classic Multiplus components with an external current sensor and integrated anti-islanding function. This extends the PowerControl and Powerassist functions to 100 a and extends the potential range of use to ess applications. The inverter module delivers a full 5000 w with a non-linear load, or 4000 w with a linear continuous load. the 48 v battery charger is also very well proportioned with 70 a charging power and is supplemented by a 50 a transfer switch, which can be used to switch back and forth between the aC connections at lightning speed.

a maximum mains or generator current can be set on the MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-50. The MultiPlus-II then takes account of other connected AC consumers and only uses the power that is still "left over" to charge the battery. This prevents the generator or mains connection from being overloaded (PowerControl function). With the Powerassist function, the PowerControl principle takes on a new dimension. Load peaks often only occur for a limited period of time. In such cases, the MultiPlus-II immediately compensates for insufficient generator, shore power or mains power with energy from the battery. If the load is reduced, i.e. consumers are switched off, the available energy can then be used to charge the batteries.

Maximum flexibility thanks to two alternating current outputs

The main output ensures uninterrupted operation. In the event of a mains failure or an interruption in the shore/generator power, the MultiPlus-II takes over the supply to the connected loads. The switchover happens so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic devices is guaranteed. The second output only supplies power if alternating current is available at the input of the MultiPlus-II. consumers that must not discharge the battery, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output.

Remote configuration and monitoring

Install a Color Control gx or other gx products to connect to the internet. The operating data can be saved and viewed free of charge on our vRM (victron Remote Management) website. If systems are connected to the Internet, they can be accessed remotely and settings can be changed.
