With its high rated energy capacity, the Pytes V12 is ideal as an energy storage solution for single-family homes and smaller commercial applications. The battery stores excess solar power and makes it available for self-consumption at a later time. This reduces grid draw and increases the self-consumption of the photovoltaic system. The battery operates as a low-voltage storage system (51.2 V). Low-voltage systems are characterized by their easy integration into many hybrid and battery storage inverters and are frequently used in residential buildings.
Safe LiFePO4 Cell Technology
The Pytes V12 uses lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cells. Compared to many other lithium technologies, this cell chemistry offers high thermal stability, a long service life, and excellent cycle stability.
The integrated battery management system continuously monitors, among other things:
- Cell voltages
- Charge and discharge currents
- Temperature
- Short circuits
- Overvoltage and undervoltage
- Cell balancing
- Protection against reverse polarity of power cables
This ensures safe and reliable operation.
High-Performance in Daily Operation
The battery operates with a recommended charge and discharge current of 100 A, which corresponds to a continuous power output of 5.12 kW. Discharge currents of up to 200 A are possible for 180 seconds. With a depth of discharge (DoD) of 90%, a large portion of the stored energy can be utilized without significantly affecting the battery’s service life.
Scalable for Growing Storage Systems
If energy demand increases, the storage system can be expanded. The Pytes V12 supports parallel operation of up to 16 batteries. This allows the total capacity to be flexibly adapted to larger photovoltaic systems or rising consumption levels. Communication between the batteries takes place via RJ45 cascading, while the connection to the inverter is established via CAN or RS485. Numerous inverter manufacturers are supported via preconfigured DIP switches.
