How it works
The hybrid inverter is a powerful, three-phase device that efficiently converts the direct current generated by solar modules into grid-compliant alternating current and intelligently controls the energy flows between the photovoltaic system, battery storage, power grid, and consumers. surplus solar energy is primarily used for self-consumption, then stored in a compatible high-voltage battery, and only then fed into the public grid. When needed, for example at night or during periods of increased power consumption, the inverter reliably provides the stored energy. Optionally, it enables an uninterruptible emergency power supply in the event of a grid failure. With its high efficiency, flexible battery management, comprehensive protection functions, and modern communication interfaces, it offers an efficient and future-proof solution for the intelligent use and control of solar power in residential and commercial buildings.
200% PV oversizing, 110% AC power
Oversizing allows you to connect solar modules with up to twice the rated power of the inverter. This means you can achieve a higher electricity yield even when there is little sun. The increased AC power allows the inverter to deliver up to 110% of its nominal power on the AC side for short periods of time, enabling you to make optimal use of power peaks.
V2X readiness
With V2X readiness, the inverter is designed to function as a bidirectional interface between the PV system, home storage, and electric vehicle in the future. This means you can not only charge your electric car, but also use its battery as additional energy storage for your home or the grid – provided that the appropriate infrastructure and compatible vehicles are available.
VPP compatibility
This means that the device is prepared for integration into a virtual power plant (VPP). It digitally networks many decentralized energy sources, such as photovoltaic systems, battery storage systems, or flexible consumers, into a common, controllable network. This allows these systems to participate jointly in the energy market, provide balancing energy, or compensate for peak loads.
Different modes
In on-grid operation, the inverter offers you 6 different operating modes: self-consumption, feed-in priority, backup, peak shaving, TOU (time-of-use) and manual mode. This allows you to select the mode that best suits your energy needs and your everyday life. In the event of a power failure in the public grid, the inverter automatically switches to EPS mode (emergency power supply). This ensures that your connected consumers continue to be reliably supplied with energy.
Self-consumption – use your solar power for your household appliances first. Surplus energy charges the battery, and only then is electricity fed into the grid. This allows you to effectively save costs when electricity prices are high and feed-in tariffs are low.
Feed-in priority – ideal when feed-in tariffsare high. Your PV system first supplies your consumers, and surplus electricity is fed into the grid and remunerated.
Backup - keeps the battery sufficiently charged at all times so that important devices continue to run reliably in the event of a power failure. It is particularly suitable for regions with frequent power failures.
Peak shaving - charges the battery when power consumption is low and releases energy when the load is high. This reduces peak loads and saves electricity costs.
TOU (Time-of-use) - is set via the SolaXCloud app or web interface. You can assign up to 10 time slots per day with different operating modes such as self-consumption, peak shaving, charging, or discharging. This allows you to flexibly adapt your system to your needs and electricity tariffs.
Manual mode - is intended exclusively for qualified personnel for maintenance and troubleshooting. Here, specific functions such as forced discharging, charging, or charging stop can be activated. After 6 hours, the system automatically switches back and exits manual mode.
Protection and safety
- overvoltage/undervoltage protection
- AC overcurrent protection, AC short-circuit protection
- DC isolation protection, DC reverse polarity protection, DC feed monitoring
- Grid monitoring
- Regenerative power monitoring

Arc fault detection (AFCI)
If your PV modules, connectors, or cables are incorrectly installed or damaged, arcing can occur, which can cause fires. To quickly prevent such fires, Solax has developed optional arc detection. This feature can be installed and provides a higher level of safety for you and your PV system.
SolaXCloud
SolaXCloud is an intelligent platform for managing your home energy. It provides you with a clear overview of your energy consumption and power generation, as well as easy control of all connected devices. This allows you to optimize the efficiency of your power consumption and get the most out of your solar system. Your data is transmitted securely and reliably at all times. You can also conveniently download the app directly. Instructions for doing so can be found in the user manual.
