Adaptive 7-stage charging algorithm

The charger uses an intelligent multi-stage charging algorithm that adapts the charging process to the condition of the connected battery. The available charging phases are: testing, constant current, constant voltage, recovery, trickle charging, storage, and repeat. This ensures that the battery is first charged efficiently and then maintained at an appropriate state of charge. It should also be noted that the charging algorithm first enables rapid charging and then completes the final few percent of the charging process in a more controlled manner. Automatic Temperature Compensation

When charging lead-acid batteries, the charger automatically takes the ambient temperature into account. The device measures the temperature during the charging process and adjusts the charging voltage accordingly. For the 24V models, the temperature compensation is 32 mV/°C according to the technical specifications. In lithium mode or when temperature compensation is deactivated, this adjustment does not occur.

Storage Mode for Long Periods of Inactivity

If a battery is not used for an extended period, storage mode can reduce the long-term strain caused by an excessively high float voltage. Once the charging phases are complete, the voltage is reduced to a lower level. At regular intervals, the voltage is briefly raised to refresh the battery. This makes the device particularly suitable for seasonally used vehicles, RVs, or boats whose batteries remain connected to the charger for weeks or months.

Recovery of Deeply Discharged Batteries

The battery charger features a recovery function for deeply or completely discharged batteries. It attempts to recharge a battery starting at 0V using a low current. As soon as sufficient voltage is reached at the battery terminals, the normal charging cycle can begin. Additionally, an optional recovery phase is available for lead-acid batteries.
