The new Steca Tarom 4545 charge controller (mpn: 4545) is the best choice for larger systems up to 8,400 Wp on three voltage levels (12V, 24V, 48V). Compared to its predecessor models, it features significantly improved state-of-charge calculation, ensuring that your system is optimally monitored and the battery is protected. An integrated data logger collects all important information, which is shown on a graphic display.

Shunt topology with MOSFETs

The shunt is a low resistance device that is installed in the circuit to measure large switching currents. This enables accurate monitoring and guarantees longer battery life and increased safety. When installing the current measuring resistor, it is important to determine the optimum resistance value. This is calculated by dividing the lowest measuring voltage by the lowest current value within the expected measuring range.

State of charge calculation - SOC

One value that you should always know when operating a charge controller is the state of charge. This is calculated automatically thanks to the intelligent state of charge determination feature of Steca AtonIC. The software includes a self-learning algorithm that displays the state of charge of the battery and adapts to the capacity and age of the battery. This ensures that your battery is optimally protected.

Data acquisition

All important system data is stored by the integrated data logger and read out via an open interface. An external temperature sensor can also be connected. In addition, two additional switch contacts can be freely configured as a timer, night light function, or surplus manager
