Hybrid inverter

Compared to conventional inverters, hybrid inverters offer the option of not only feeding the generated solar power into the power grid, but also storing it in batteries. This allows the stored solar power to be used even when the sun is not shining. Another function of hybrid inverters is to optimize a household's electricity consumption by giving priority to using the solar power generated directly in the household before feeding it into the grid. This leads to a reduction in energy costs and less dependence on expensive grid electricity.

Two MPP trackers for optimal solar yields

Maximum Power Point Tracker technology generates the best possible yield from a solar system. The MPPT determines the optimal ratio between irradiance, module temperature, and solar cell type throughout the day. The two MPP trackers in the SPH inverter allow the optimal operating point for the two PV strings to be optimized separately. The two trackers operate independently of each other, so that, for example, shading on one string would have no effect on the second.

Operating modes – Configurable depending on system requirements

Normal mode (online mode + backup mode)

Different operating modes can be set for optimal system integration of the SPH inverter. When entering directly on the device, a priority mode can only be set for a specific period of time. When using the online platform, up to three time periods can be set for the priority mode (paid accessories are required to use this function).

  • Load first:In the standard "Load first" mode, the connected loads (consumers) are supplied with energy first. As soon as the PV energy is sufficient for the load, the excess energy is fed into the battery. If the battery is fully charged or no battery is connected, the remaining energy is fed into the grid.
  • Battery first:In this mode, the inverter first fully charges the battery with the maximum possible solar power. If the PV power is insufficient, the grid charging function can also be activated.
  • Grid first:In this mode, the PV energy generated is first fed into the grid. The switch-on and switch-off times for this mode can be set here, as well as the power rate.

Error mode: The smart monitoring system continuously monitors the system status and adjusts it as necessary. In the event of unforeseen events such as system errors or device failures, the error is displayed on the LCD screen. In error mode, the LED indicator also lights up.
Program mode: This mode indicates that the inverter is downloading or installing an update. Please do not interrupt the power supply until this process is complete. Once the update is complete, the SPH will automatically log out and return to the previous mode.
Check mode: Before switching to normal mode, the SPH switches to check mode to verify its functionality. If no problems are detected, it will then switch to normal mode. Otherwise, it will switch to error mode.
Standby mode: Whenever there are no errors or no mode has been selected directly.
Shutdown mode: To switch off the SPH, all power sources must be disconnected. As a result, it automatically switches to shutdown mode. 1. Switch off the PV input. 2. Deactivate the battery switch. 3. Disconnect the AC connections of the SPH, which will switch off the LEDs and the LCD. Wait 5 minutes after completing these steps!

Growatt monitoring platform (can be used with optional accessories)

The Growatt monitoring platform can be used with the optional accessories from the Shine series. It is available as a smartphone app (for iOS and Android) and as a web version. The Shine accessories must be purchased separately, but use of the platform is free of charge. With Shine, you can configure and monitor all your Growatt products, and view your own consumption and trends.
