SolaX ESS-AELIO 60kW / 100kWh C&I energy storage system with air cooling
The AELIO-P60B100 all-in-one energy storage system from SolaX (MPN: 1070020111) operates at an output of up to 60 kW with a storage capacity of 100 kWh and is primarily intended for outdoor use. The complete system includes a cabinet, LiFePO4 battery modules, a high-voltage box, a distribution box, an IO module, an EMS, switches, a UPS, an automatic fire suppression system, and the X3-AELIO-60K inverter. The hybrid ESS cabinet allows for PV over-subscription of up to 200%, so you can connect up to twice the rated power. This enables you to achieve higher yields during low-light conditions and periods of shade. A maximum DC input current of 40 A ensures high PV throughput and supports high-power strings. Global MPP scanning finds the global operating point even under partial shading and maximizes energy yield. Intelligent I-V curve diagnostics visualize the performance of your modules and strings, detect anomalies such as defects, mismatches, or shading early on, and support predictive maintenance.
The modular, scalable architecture allows for flexible deployment in commercial and industrial applications. The cabinet supports both grid-connected and off-grid systems and integrates seamlessly into existing installations. Thanks to optimal use of space, storage capacity grows as needed. This allows you to reliably secure your energy supply and efficiently meet rising loads.

200% PV oversizing
You can connect solar modules that, combined, have up to twice the power output of the inverter itself. If your inverter is 60 kW, you can connect solar modules with a total capacity of up to 120 kWp. This allows you to generate more electricity even when there’s less sunlight or on cloudy days. Although the maximum power the inverter can deliver to your home remains the same, you’ll reach this peak output more frequently. This allows you to get more out of your solar system overall and increase your electricity yield throughout the year.
IV Curve Scan
The scan is an automatic diagnostic function that measures the current-voltage characteristic curve of your PV modules. This allows for the early detection of power losses, soiling, or defects without the need for additional measuring devices. This simplifies maintenance, increases operational reliability, and ensures maximum energy yields from your system.
Support for Microgrids and a Variety of Scenarios
The air-cooled AELIO‑ESS can operate reliably both in conjunction with the public grid and as a standalone off-grid system. The system can establish and maintain a stable local grid on its own, adapt to existing grids, and restart automatically after power outages. Typical applications include emergency power supply, peak shaving and load shifting, optimizing self-consumption with PV, and providing buffering for charging infrastructure, construction sites, events, or remote locations. Your benefits: high supply reliability, lower energy costs, and a flexibly scalable solution tailored to your specific application.
Three-phase unbalanced output
The storage system can deliver varying amounts of power to the three residential power phases (L1, L2, L3). It does not need to distribute the load evenly but instead delivers more energy where it is currently needed. This means you’ll have a more reliable power supply for mixed loads, a higher self-consumption rate, and less reliance on the grid—even if, for example, one phase is under a heavier load due to a heat pump. Example: With a total output of 10 kW, approximately 5 kW can be supplied to L1, 3 kW to L2, and 2 kW to L3 (within the device’s limits).
Grid Connection and Off-Grid Operation
It either operates in conjunction with the public grid or supplies you independently as needed. In grid mode, it optimizes self-consumption, smooths out power peaks, and takes advantage of dynamic rates. In the event of a grid outage or when self-sufficiency is desired, the system creates its own grid (voltage and frequency) and reliably keeps critical loads running—depending on the configuration, even with an automatic switchover. This gives you maximum flexibility, high reliability of supply, and cost-effective operation.
Various Operating Modes
In on-grid operation, you can choose from six different operating modes: Self-Consumption, Feed-In Priority, Backup, Peak Shaving, Schedule, and EPS. Manual operation is intended only for the customer service team. This allows you to flexibly adapt your energy supply to your daily routine and individual needs. In the event of a power outage, the system automatically detects the interruption and switches to EPS mode on its own. This ensures that important electrical devices continue to receive a reliable power supply.
Self-Consumption Mode
...is particularly suitable for regions where feed-in tariffs are low and electricity prices are high. In this mode, the solar power generated is primarily used for your own consumption. Surplus energy is first used to charge the battery. Only once your own needs are met and the battery is fully charged is the remaining electricity fed into the public grid. This way, you maximize your independence from the utility company and lower your energy costs.
Feed-in Priority
...is ideal for regions with attractive feed-in tariffs but where there is a limit on the amount of power that can be fed into the grid. In this mode, you first use the solar power you generate for your own needs. Any excess energy that you do not consume yourself is fed into the public grid. Note: Once the permitted feed-in limit is reached, the remaining energy is automatically used to charge the battery.
Backup Mode
...is ideal for locations with frequent power outages. In this mode, the system ensures that the battery always remains at a high state of charge. This allows you to continue reliably powering important devices during a power outage. Energy management in this mode follows the same principle as in self-consumption mode.
Peak-Shaving Mode
...is designed to help you specifically balance out peaks in electricity consumption. The system ensures that the battery is charged during periods of low electricity consumption. When electricity demand is high, the battery then provides energy to absorb load peaks. This allows you to make optimal use of your energy and reduce your electricity costs.
TOU Mode (Time-of-Use)
...using the SolaX Cloud app or the web, you can precisely specify how your system should operate at different times of the day. You can divide the day into up to 24 time slots, each lasting at least 15 minutes. For each time slot, you can individually select whether the system should switch to, for example, self-consumption, charging, discharging, peak load operation, or battery shutdown. This allows you to tailor your energy management to your daily routine and different electricity rates. Detailed setup instructions can be found in the Web Guide or in the app.
EPS (Off-Grid)
...In the event of a power outage, the system automatically takes over powering your most important devices (EPS loads)—either directly with solar power or with energy from the battery. This requires that a battery be installed and that the connected devices do not exceed the battery’s maximum power output. The electricity generated by the solar system is first used to power the loads. Excess energy is used to charge the battery.

VPP-ready
This means the device is prepared for integration into a Virtual Power Plant (VPP). It digitally connects many decentralized energy sources—such as photovoltaic systems, battery storage units, or flexible loads—into a single, controllable network. This allows these systems to participate collectively in the energy market, provide balancing power, or offset peak loads.
Protection and Safety
- Overvoltage/Undervoltage Protection
- DC isolation protection, reverse polarity protection, feed-in monitoring
- Grid monitoring, ground fault detection, overtemperature protection
- Active anti-islanding method, AC auxiliary power supply (APS)
- AFCI (optional), overvoltage protection (DC/AC)
Arc Fault Detection (AFCI)
If your PV modules, connectors, or cables are installed incorrectly or damaged, so-called arcs can occur, which may cause fires. To quickly prevent such fires, SolaX has developed an optional arc detection feature. This feature can be installed to provide a higher level of safety for you and your PV system.
