The Victron Energy MultiPlus-II 48/6k5/100-50 230V GX (MPN: PMP482606000) combines a 48-V sine wave inverter, a 100-A battery charger, a 50-A transfer switch, and GX system monitoring in a single unit. This combination is suitable for stationary, grid-tied, or off-grid storage systems, as well as select mobile applications. It delivers 6,000 W of continuous power at 25 °C and integrates compatible batteries, external solar charge controllers, and other system components into a centrally monitored system.

Inverter, charger, and transfer switch in a single enclosure

The sine-wave inverter provides 230 V AC at 50 Hz during battery operation. Its continuous power output is 6 kW at 25 °C, 5.7 kW at 40 °C, and 4.6 kW at 65 °C. Higher power levels are available for short periods, such as 8 kW for up to one hour during a cold start and 11 kW for one minute. This allows for loads with increased startup requirements, provided the overall system design is suitable. The integrated charger charges compatible 48-V battery systems at up to 100 A. PowerControl limits the current drawn from the AC input while accounting for connected loads. PowerAssist supplements limited grid or generator power during load peaks with battery power. When consumption drops again, available input power can be used to charge the battery.

GX System Monitoring and Interfaces

The integrated GX card consolidates operating data from the inverter, the battery, and connected system components. An illuminated 2 x 16-character display allows you to monitor key parameters directly on the unit. The system can also be monitored locally via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, as well as through the Victron Remote Management Portal. BMS-Can, USB, Ethernet, and VE.Direct are available for integration. The BMS-Can connection supports compatible CAN-bus-controlled batteries at 500 kbit/s; however, it is not a VE.Can connection. Battery and charging parameters must be approved for the specific storage system and configured correctly.

Integration into Stationary and Mobile Systems

The MultiPlus-II GX can be combined with an external MPPT solar charge controller or a suitable PV inverter. A solar charge controller is not integrated into the unit. AC-Out-1 is used to power prioritized loads and can continue to be powered from the battery in the event of an AC input failure. AC-Out-2 is active only when an AC input is available and is therefore suitable for non-prioritized loads. VE.Bus enables integration into parallel or three-phase systems. Such configurations require identical, properly configured units and professional system planning. Installation and commissioning must be performed only under the supervision of a suitably qualified professional and in accordance with applicable local regulations.
