The Quattro 48/10000/140-100/100 from Victron (MPN QUA481030010) is a combination device consisting of a 48V 8000W sine wave inverter, a powerful battery charger, and a transfer switch. It has two switchable AC outputs and two AC inputs, each equipped with a 100A transfer switch. The Quattro can be connected to two independent AC sources: for example, to the public power grid and a generator, or to two generators. The Quattro automatically connects to the active source.

The permanently integrated battery charger delivers an impressive 140A, which means that even large batteries can be fully charged quickly when shore power is available. The 48V sine wave voltage converter built into the Quattro converts your battery power into 230V AC. Thanks to the true sine wave, the power quality is also perfectly suited for sensitive electronic devices. In addition to the two integrated device types, 1 lightning-fast 100A transfer switch is installed for each AC input. Thanks to these switches, countless applications can also be implemented in the grid-connected area. In addition to the VE.Bus port, 2 COM ports are also available for system integration, enabling virtually unlimited networking of the Quattro.

Extremely flexible thanks to 2 AC inputs and 2 AC outputs

The main output ensures uninterrupted operation. In the event of a power failure or interruption of the mains/generator power, the Quattro takes over the supply to the connected consumers. The switchover is so fast (less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic devices is guaranteed. The second output only supplies power when AC power is available at one of the Quattro's inputs. Consumers that must not discharge the battery, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output.

Key performance features of the Quattro 48/10000/140-100/100

  • 8000W continuous power and 20000W peak power, for 48V battery voltage
  • Device combination of inverter with transfer switch and 140A battery charger
  • Delivers pure 230V sine wave voltage and a clean 50Hz frequency
  • 2 AC inputs with integrated transfer switch / 2 x 100 A maximum switchable current
  • 2 AC outputs + 1x additional output which only allows current to pass to consumers when the AC input is active.
  • VE.Bus communication port provides extensive networking, system integration, configuration, and control options for Victron Multiplus devices.
  • Supports three-phase operation (3 identical units of the same model required)
  • Multiplus devices can be connected in parallel; up to 6 devices can be connected in parallel, significantly increasing system performance when needed
  • 2x COM ports are available in addition to the VE.Bus port, meaning that there are virtually no limits to system integration
  • PowerControl function enables operation with limited generator power and restricted shore or mains power
  • PowerAssist function enables "power boost" of generators and shore power support when needed
  • Can be used as a UPS solution for uninterruptible power supply thanks to the integrated transfer switch with 100A
  • Can be used for grid-connected self-consumption systems that only draw power from the grid operator when the battery capacity is no longer sufficient or other programmable events have occurred
  • 3 separately programmable relays
  • Compatible with numerous Victron control and display panels
  • Very high efficiency and low self-consumption

Massive power expansion possible

Up to 6 Quattros can be connected in parallel. For example, six 48/10000/140 units provide 54 kW/60 kVA of power or 840 A of charging current. Three units can be connected in a three-phase configuration. But that's not all: up to 6 sets of three devices can be connected in parallel, resulting in 162 kW/180 kVA inverter power and over 2,500 A charging capacity.

PowerControl – working with limited generator power, restricted shore power or grid power

The MultiPlus is a very powerful battery charger. It therefore draws a lot of current from the generator or shore power supply (almost 10A per 5kVA Multi at 230 VAC). The Multi Control remote control panel can be used to set the maximum mains or generator current to be drawn. The MultiPlus then takes other connected AC consumers into account and only uses the power that is "left over" for charging. This prevents the generator or shore power connection from being overloaded.

PowerAssist – "power boost" for generators and shore power support

This function adds a new dimension to the PowerControl principle. It enables the Quattro to support alternative sources that are too weak. Load peaks often only occur for a limited period of time. In such cases, the Quattro ensures that insufficient shore power or generator output is immediately compensated for by energy from the battery.

Backup system: AC power even during a power failure

The Quattro can be used with off-grid and grid-connected PV systems as well as other alternative energy systems. Software is available to detect a power failure.

Simple system configuration

If settings on an individual device need to be changed, this can be done in a matter of minutes using a DIP switch setting procedure.
Parallel-connected and three-phase systems can be configured using the VE.Bus Quick Configure and VE.Bus System Configurator software.

Monitoring options and on-site control

Several options are available: battery monitor, Multi Control Panel, Ve.Net Blue Power Panel, Color Control Panel, smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart), laptop or computer (USB or RS232).

Remote monitoring and control

Victron Ethernet Remote, Victron Global Remote, and the Color Control Panel enable remote maintenance and monitoring of the MultiPlus. In addition, system data can be stored and viewed free of charge on the VRM (Victron Remote Management) website.

Remote configuration

If systems with a Color Control Panel are connected to the Ethernet, they can be accessed and settings can be changed remotely.
