How does a balcony power plant work?
Our balcony power plant offers a simple and efficient solution for generating your own electricity. It consists of four ultra-light solar modules, each with 200W, an 800W micro inverter with integrated WiFi, and a 2048Wh battery module from Growatt. Installation is quick and easy: the inverter is connected to the solar modules using solar connectors, and then the AC cable is plugged into your home. Your household grid primarily uses the solar power generated. If more electricity is generated than consumed, the surplus energy is stored in the battery. If necessary, additional electricity is drawn from the public grid. You also have the option of adding a battery system to store excess energy and avoid wasting any.

The Offgridtec Balcony Solar Module Set consists of two 200W solar modules, which operate with monocrystalline solar cells and a remarkable efficiency of 22.7%. These modules offer an operating voltage of 24.2V each and combine outstanding energy efficiency, aesthetic design, and easy installation. With the 12 metal cable ties included, the set is ideal for mounting on balconies and makes it easy to integrate photovoltaic technology for generating green energy on site.

Balcony power plants in Germany
There is currently no law or regulation in Germany governing the generation of solar power for purely personal use. The maximum limit of 800W AC PV power is a reserve value which, according to the current VDE standard, can be fed into an existing socket circuit in a house without overloading it. There are no specifications for independent circuits without additional load.
All electrical installations should be carried out in accordance with VDE standards. However, the operation of a balcony power plant via a standard Schuko socket is not prohibited. Registration with the Federal Network Agency is mandatory. However, there are no known cases of fines for failure to register balcony power plants, nor are there any insurmountable problems with grid operators. Compliance with and implementation of standards and obligations is the responsibility of the plant operator.
