The complete balcony power plant systems from Offgridtec (MPN 016030) are an ideal way to produce part of your household electricity yourself and significantly reduce your overall electricity costs. In addition to two 450W bifacial solar modules and a matching micro inverter, the systems contain everything you need to connect to your home's power grid and, if necessary, mount them on your balcony railing or roof. The set is designed for mounting the modules side by side. Our support team is available to provide advice and assistance for individual module installation options.
How does a balcony power plant work?
The Offgridtec balcony power plant is a compact solar system. It consists of a solar module and the matching Hoymiles micro inverter for feeding into the home's own power grid. Ideally, the inverter is attached directly to the substructure of the solar module and connected to the solar module with the solar connector. The AC cable is connected via the inverter's Betteri connection and routed directly to the appropriate socket. Here, you can choose between connecting to a standard Schuko socket or a Wieland feed-in socket, which is included in the scope of delivery if selected.
No special settings are required to use the solar power generated in the home's power grid. If power is already available from local sources, the appliances in the household use this first and then supplement it with grid power if necessary.

Luxen Solar 450W Full Black solar module
The bifacial 450W Full Black solar module from the Luxneri N5 series by Luxen Solar (MPN LNDX-450ND) sets new standards in solar technology. It combines innovative technologies such as LECO N-TOPCon cell technology and a 96-cell half layout to maximize efficiency. In addition, SMBB half-cut cell technology is used to optimize performance.
The monocrystalline module also impresses with excellent anti-PID and low LID performance values as well as high hotspot resistance. Its stylish full-black design makes it ideal for installation in solar systems on residential buildings, balcony power plants, and many other applications.

Hoymiles HMS-800W-2T micro inverter with integrated WiFi
The HMS-800W-2T (MPN: HMS-800W-2T) from Hoymiles is the perfect micro inverter for a balcony power plant. In addition to the integratedWiFi module, this compact, lightweight (only 3.2 kg) device is ideal for solar power production with up to two solar panels with an output of 320 to 540+W each. As with all other micro inverters from Hoymiles, it is suitable for long operating hours and a wide range of PV module applications, as its starting voltage is very low (only 22V) and the DC input range of the operating voltage (16-60V) is extremely wide.

Two MPP trackers for optimal solar yields
Maximum Power Point Tracker technology generates the best possible yield from a solar system. The MPPT determines the optimal ratio between irradiance, module temperature, and solar cell type throughout the day. The two MPP trackers in the HMS-800W-2T allow the optimal operating point for the two PV strings to be optimized separately. The two trackers work independently of each other, so that, for example, shading on one string would have no effect on the second.
Simple setup
PV systems with Hoymiles microinverters are very easy to plan. You do not need to install cumbersome conventional inverters. Each microinverter can be quickly mounted on the PV mounting rack or directly under the PV module. The PV module is connected to the microinverter directly on site, eliminating the risk of people being exposed to dangerously high DC voltage.

Balcony power plants in Germany
There is currently no law or regulation in Germany governing the generation of solar power for purely personal use. The maximum limit of 800W AC PV power is a reserve value which, according to the current VDE standard, can be fed into an existing socket circuit in a house without overloading it. There are no specifications for independent circuits without additional load.
All electrical installations should be carried out in accordance with VDE standards. However, the operation of a balcony power plant via a standard Schuko socket is not prohibited. Registration with the Federal Network Agency is mandatory. However, there are no known cases of fines for failure to register balcony power plants, nor are there any insurmountable problems with network operators. Compliance with and implementation of standards and obligations is the responsibility of the plant operator.
