How Does a Balcony Power Plant Work?
The Offgridtec balcony system is a compact solar installation consisting of multiple PV modules and a Zendure AIO storage system. The Hyper 2000 inverter connects to a standard household socket and stacks on the battery. Solar power is used directly in the home, while surplus energy is stored for later. When grid power is available, devices use it first before drawing on the battery, ensuring efficient and optimized power supply.

Balcony Power Plants in Germany
Currently, there is no dedicated law in Germany regulating the generation of solar power solely for self-consumption. The limit of 600W AC PV output is a reserve value defined by current VDE standards, allowing safe feed-in to an existing socket circuit without overloading it. For independent circuits without additional load, no specific regulations are outlined.
All electrical installations should be carried out in compliance with VDE standards. However, operating a balcony power plant via a standard Schuko socket is not prohibited. Registration with the Federal Network Agency is mandatory, though no fines for unregistered balcony systems have been reported so far, nor significant issues with grid operators. Compliance with regulations remains the responsibility of the system owner, and extensive professional and legal information is available on dedicated websites.
