This balcony power plant from Offgridtec offers you a 1800W solution for generating part of the electricity you need for your household yourself, thereby significantly reducing your overall electricity consumption costs. The system comprises four Full Black Luxen solar modules, each with an output of 450W and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, a MIC-1500TL-X string inverter from Growatt, including a Shine-Wilan-X2 control unit, and a1-phase SPM-E electricity meter, which is used for grid export limitations and self-consumption monitoring. The set also includes a 30 m solar cable and a 10 m high-end rubber cable from Lapp Cable for connection, as well as 3 MC4 connectors. The modules are designed so that they can be installed directly next to each other.

How does a balcony power plant work?

The 1800W balcony power plant from Offgridtec is a space-saving solar system consisting of four solar modules and a matching Growatt micro inverter to feed the generated electricity into the in-house power grid. Ideally, the inverter should be installed directly next to the solar module and connected to the module using the solar connector. No special settings are required to use the solar power generated in the home's power grid. If power is available from other sources in the home, this is used first and supplemented by grid power if necessary.

Luxen Solar N5 450W solar module

The bifacial 450W Full Black solar module from the Luxneri N5 series by Luxen Solar (MPN LNDX-450ND) sets new standards in solar technology. It combines innovative technologies such as LECO N-TOPCon cell technology and a 96-cell half layout to maximize efficiency. It also uses SMBB half-cut cell technology, which helps optimize performance.

LECO N-TOPCon cell technology

Advanced TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) technology is a further development of PERC technology and aims to increase the efficiency of solar cells. This technology is complemented by Low Efficiency Cell Optimization (LECO), which aims to further optimize the overall performance of the cells, especially under less than ideal lighting conditions. During the manufacture of the solar modules, an ultra-thin oxide layer is applied, followed by a conductive layer, resulting in what is known as a passivated contact. This design not only improves the performance of the solar cells in low light conditions, but also contributes to higher annual energy production.

In addition, the combination of TOPCon and bifacial technology enables even greater power efficiency, as the cells are able to absorb 15% more reflected light. These synergistic effects lead to a significant increase in energy yield and make the solar cells an outstanding choice for modern photovoltaic applications.

Half-cell technology

In half-cell technology (also known as "half-cut"), conventional silicon cells are divided into two halves using a laser. These halved cells are then connected in parallel at the center, which reduces resistance losses and thus increases the performance of the solar module.

Bifacial cells

Bifacial modules offer a decisive advantage thanks to their transparent backs and special cell technology—they also utilize reflected light. This leads to a significantly increased energy yield and makes these modules a particularly efficient choice for your solar system.

Why a string inverter?

The performance of solar modules varies depending on temperature, irradiation, and shading, which can lead to so-called mismatching losses. These losses occur when the performance of one panel in a string is lower than the others, resulting in lower power production for the entire string. A string inverter can reduce these losses.
Maximum Power Point Tracking: Maximum Power Point Tracking technology generates the best possible yield from a solar system. The MPPT of the MIC inverter determines the optimal ratio between voltage and current throughout the day, depending on the solar radiation and the temperature of the solar modules. The large MPPT voltage range allows a large number of solar modules to be connected, enabling efficient energy yield. The advantage of this is most noticeable when the sky is partially overcast and the light intensity is constantly changing.
Flexible and easy installation: Thanks to its compact dimensions and low weight, the inverter is quick and easy to install and connect. Growatt monitoring platform
